Glad to see we don't just share a name but the love of the outdoors! :)

We've been camping with our 5 and 8 year old for a few years now. Till then Susan and I would just do our camping and hiking trips ourselves, leaving the little ones with the nana and papa. But it is great getting them out and exploring. We're hoping to do a trip out West soon to expose them to new landscapes. My daughter loves rocks so I know she will love it out west. Keep up the great articles!

All the best!

In reply to <a href="https://wefoundadventure.com/tips-and-tricks/dealing-with-changes-and-challenges-on-the-trail#comment-111753">Ingunn</a>.

Thanks Ingunn! I have to say this post was hard for me to write. I usually just do trip reports but I went a different direction with this post as I looked back on our last year of hiking. I can't believe Nora isn't throwing tantrums yet! You are very lucky! We feel like Jack has already hit the terrible twos! I'm excited for when he can communicate with us, and I think he is too!

Love this post! Nora hasn't really reached the tantrum stage yet, but when we went to Melakwa in May, she cried on and off the last 0.5 mile or so to the lake. I was embarrassed until I realized that everyone we met just smiled at us...babies cry (and toddlers have meltdowns) and that's just expected. And I like to think they're way less annoying than the people playing loud music on trail (WHYYY) or huge groups of noisy people.
