Thanks so much! I think we should invest in one, not only because I hope we get to take some trips, but because if I want to take both kids alone to the beach this summer, I will appreciate the option to make them wear jackets so I don't need to worry about keeping as close of an eye on one if the other one is going in the other direction (two mobile kids is going to be a challenge! especially when one is a typical preschooler who says black when I say white and the other one is a 16 month old with no understanding of safety - ha!)

Depending on when you're going you're always welcome to borrow one of ours. Assuming we don't have a trip planned when you'd need it ;)

There are also a couple on Craigslist that look to be in good condition: https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=infant%20life%20jacket&sort=rel

Thanks so much Bobby! I will look into those. I wonder if I can find someone selling one used - I imagine we only have one summer left of her being less than 30 pounds (yikes!) I will have to ask now so that I can try to catch one on the REI anniversary sale coupon if not. Ha!

Hi Ashley! Rowan is using Jack's old PFD. It's the Stohlquist Nemo. It's good for up to 30lbs. She's 7 months old, but it ft Jack fine when we took him canoeing at 6 months and he was super skinny compared to Rowan. MTI and Level6 also make infant life jackets. All 3 options have a big collar to keep them upright in the water.

What will you guys use for a life jacket for the littlest? We use a puddle jumper for Will but haven't had Annie out yet, which I plan to change this summer. We didn't have Will out on the water until he was 2+ so didn't buy anything other than the puddle jumper for him.
