George H. Crosby Manitou State Park, MN

We took a weekend camping/backpacking trip in June up in northern Minnesota! The first night we stayed at a state forest campground called, Eckbeck. It was a drive-in campground with two sets of privies, a water tap, and garbage disposal. There was more vegetative screening between campsites than you would find at a state park campground and there were less people. Not to mention that it was only $12 a night! France: What to Pack?

When planning the trip to France I was struck with a serious dilemma in terms of packing. All guidebooks strongly suggest that you pack as little as possible when traveling abroad. However, this wasn’t going to be easy for us considering that we were bringing along all of our climbing equipment, clothes appropriate to Paris, and clothes that were appropriate for hiking in the Alps where temperatures vary.
